Some of the features that make Sila Inua unique are:
a "moon pool", usually only found on larger speciality ships, provides direct access to the sea from inside the boat. It is a great way to observe fish or gain access to flowing water in the winter. Or use bathymetric tools like the polyvalent R2Sonic broadband multibeam sonar in summer
A camera window is located on the back of the rear watertight bulkead. This allows the propellers and grounding keels to be monitored
Emergency access to the propellers from inside the boat means ropes or nets can be removed easily
A transparent dome (double glazing with 20 mm acrylic sheets) provides a 360 degree view; perfect for filming or keeping watch
