What makes Sila Inua extraordinary?
Some of the features that make Sila Inua unique are:
- a "moon pool", usually only found on larger speciality ships, provides direct access to the sea from inside the boat. It is a great way to observe fish or gain access to flowing water in the winter. Or use bathymetric tools like the polyvalent R2Sonic broadband multibeam sonar in summer
- A camera window is located on the back of the rear watertight bulkead. This allows the propellers and grounding keels to be monitored
- Emergency access to the propellers from inside the boat means ropes or nets can be removed easily
- A transparent dome (double glazing with 20 mm acrylic sheets) provides a 360 degree view; perfect for filming or keeping watch
